SATURDAY
As usual a great turnout for this event, god knows how many red tops start in front of me?

JJ is out in his mini too. Me and Ian Whitworth have managed to put an engine together, thankfully quite cheaply by using various parts we had knocking about. Again he starts from the back. His start is slow and he seems off the pace a little compared to previous meetings. A couple of waved yellows allow him to gain a bit of ground and he crosses the line in 4th place.

In his second heat his start isn’t great. He seems to struggle and the result of his big Hednesford crash shows as his confidence isn’t what it was. He battles on to 8th place. He gets another 8th place in his final, and is glad the meeting has finished so he can lark about with his mates.

I’m still using Kev Catling’s engine, and so far I have managed some great results with it! Not sure what to expect result wise this weekend. So many cars and some very quick ones starting from the front of the reds, going to have my work cut out!

I get eighth in my first race and seventh in the final. The final was a great race! Even though the front runners had got away it sounds as if all eyes were on the drivers from 7th – 14th place. Very hard fast racing!

I went on to get 6th in the National, best result all night!

Danny drove well in his heat and managed a 6th place, He was amongst the 7th-14th placed drivers in the final and got tenth. He was flying in the National until the half shaft broke!

After supper me and Sam have a wander through the pits for a natter. We call by Ivan Pritchard’s transporter and find them having a rave! Ivan is in charge of the tunes and Steve Reedman is giving it large dancing! Makes us smile a lot!

SUNDAY
Another hit and miss day for young Frankie. He gets eighth in Heat 1 and seventh in Heat 2. He was up to a decent place in the final and going well until he got spun out, resulting in a DNF. It’s tricky because I encourage him to be a clean driver, which he is, but I am wondering now if I should tell him to do to others what they do to him?

So out the F1s go! Ready for some rough racing today! I get eighth in my first race and fourth in Heat 2, its bloody hard work I can tell you!

In the main event I’m going good, and managed to get in front of all the superstars before getting put in. Still, I kept going and finished, not even sure if I got a place?

All in all a good weekend. The racing has been really hard, and results not fantastic, but all cars and drivers in one piece that’s the main thing!
