Birmingham and Hednesford was quite tough going for me, Danny and young Frank.
Danny had worked all hours to get his new tarcar out for Birmingham. He had a few teething problems but managed a better run on Sunday at Hednesford. Not a lot to shout about result wise but it’s only a matter of time before he gets it somewhere near.
I used my shale car and although I didn’t do anything flash I was really happy with the places I picked up over the weekend. I managed to get up into fourth place in the final on the Sunday before retiring with a flat tyre. It felt good to be able to keep up with 2013’s fastest drivers.
Young Frank didn’t seem to be in the right frame of mind when he raced at Birmingham, he struggled picking up a few places here and there.
He really enjoyed Hednesford though, and had a fantastic race with Courtney Witts and Camey Dorrell taking second place.
His racing came to a sudden end during heat 2 when after 6 laps his engine blew up big time!
A lot of work to do for another busy weekend ahead!
