Team Wainman have been having decent year so far! First we saw FWJ winning the European back in July. Danny won the Consolation Semi, and Phoebe has been holding her own. Despite a few rubbish meetings she’s still third in the points and currently will be starting off row 3 outside for her forthcoming World Final at Skegness on 11th October.
The Wainman driver that’s being discussed the most at the moment is young Frankie Jnr Jnr. Back on form, and going pretty well these last couple of months. To be honest, we felt quite positive about his National Championship Race during the run up to it.
He seemed to have re-gained a bit more confidence and believed in himself a bit more? Nothing could have prepared us for the battle that took place during the 2014 National Champs race. Starting from fourth row inside, he managed to get into second position behind Courtney Witts after just one corner then managed to keep with young Witts.
Together they Made fantastic ground before several race stoppages. The last few laps were totally awsome and a real pleasure to watch, especially for the Wainman team and family! Young Frankie only just pipped Jedd Stirk to the finish line with about a foot spare!
A race nobody will forget for some time by the sounds of things, and certainly never forgotten by ourselves!!! Mega proud moment!!
The top 3 were 515, 165 Jedd Stirk, and Frankie’s cousin Camey Dorrell 262. Cohgratulations to the top 3 and to all the mini stox kids who contributed to a damn good race!
Big thanks as always to Martin Fitzgerald for these photos of young Frankie taking his second gold.
