A long weekend as we are racing at Ipswich and Northampton.
In my heats I manage to get a 3rd, 4th & 5th, and a 7th in the final.
It was Young Frankie’s first time out at Ipswich. He got second and third in his heats. In the Final he was taken out by Witts, and the coil lead broke off so he wasn’t able to rejoin the race.
Afterwards was the long journey to Northampton – we didn’t arrive at the hotel until 3.30! We were all pretty knackered when we got up in the morning to leave for our final part of the journey to the track.
Today is a busy day as Phoebe is racing in her V8 too. It’s the European Championship. She goes out for a practice and looks fast, which is good.
However, she doesn’t have a lot of luck in the heats and doesn’t qualify, but is able to start from the very back as a non-qualifier.
She was a joy to watch in the main event! She got up to fifth place but eventually crossed the line in seventh! She was also the fourth quickest car on the day which she was very pleased about. Well done Pheebs!
Young Frank has a championship today as well – The Thunder 250! He got second and third in his heats, and then went on to win the title. Well done, young ‘un!
As for me, I picked up a few decent places and moved up into third in the world qualifying points.
Thanks to Martin Fitzgerald for photographing us all weekend – cheers Mart!
