Buzzing!
The F1s and minis raced at Coventry on 5th April. Young Frankie’s first race went okay. He crossed the line in 4th place.
Me and Danny went out for our race. I got up to second and saw my opportunity to pass front runner Mick Sworder, thankfully he couldn’t get back to me and I went on to take my first race win of 2014. Danny managed to get up near the front runners until he got wiped out by a low grader, but still he managed an 8th place.
Ministox heat 2 next. Young Frankie had a few battles but and crossed the line in 7th position.
F1 final is out next. An eventful race, that’s for sure! I’m pleased to finish in third place and stand on the podium! Danny not having the best of nights, he got a flat so a DNF.
Young Frank’s final now – he was brilliant to watch! Very quick and took his 2nd final win this year! He told us during the meeting that his car didn’t feel very quick? A look on my-laps confirmed he was the quickest all night!
I’m straight out for the Grand National. Lots of action in this one! I managed to blast my way into first and take my second win of the evening which left me buzzing if I’m honest.
Danny’s bad luck continued, a hard shunt which bent his crush zones. Despite this, he limped across the line in 11th.
So a flipping good night for myself! Young Frankie winning his final added to an already happy 515 family and team.
We pick Phoebe up straight from her work at 5.00pm Tuesday evening and make a quick dash across to Manchester. Shortly after our arrival she’s strapped in and ready to race. Not a massive turn out for the V8s but still they put on a decent show with Phoebe taking second place on her first shale meeting this year, after leading for a lot of the race.
She had a bit more of a battle in her second race, and once again finished in second behind Mike Lomax.
Her final is out now. She starts off the back of the blues and the reds are quick on her tail. She managed to pull a bit of ground on the reds before getting collected on lap 5 by a snaking car.
She hit the fence but managed to keep it going. The race is stopped and on the restart she was going well and mixing it nicely with the red top drivers until she got spun out. She ended up getting stuck in the deep stuff on the infield so it was race over.
Some more valuable points were scored which after 3 meetings has put Phoebe as the V8 top points scorer! Well done lass.
