As always we arrived in Scotland to a warm welcome and it was lovely to see old friends and meet new ones too.
Saturday saw us at Cowdenbeath. FWJ got 3rd in his heat, Danny finished in 6th, and Young Frank was in 10th.
Just 555 to try and qualify from the consolation, where he picked up a decent sixth place.
The track looked pretty slick for the main event after a heavy downpour. FWJ looked quick in this one. He had a good battle with Speaky, and as always it was hard but fair. FWJ passed Speaky, who put him in the wall, and then a couple of laps later both of them went into the wall. Frankie was dazed but Rob ended up needing a check up at the hospital.
It’s never good when people need the medics, so it was great to see Rob back to his usual self the day after. They compared notes, and both said their necks were a bit sore.
The final finished with young Frank in ninth place and Danny eleventh.
So there was just the Grand National left. FWJ managed to get the car back out, and finished fifth, with Dan not far behind in seventh.
And then just a short drive to Lochgelly where we camped out for the night.
Glad to be back here! The boys really enjoy racing here.
In their heats, FWJ did well with third and second, Danny got ninth and fifth, and young Frank tenth and eleventh.
In the final, FWJ got a flat tyre so no finish.
Danny finished in ninth, but young Frank had best race and result of the weekend with a 4th!
FWJ only just made it out for the National after a last minute problem. He crossed the line in 4th, with young Frank ninth and Danny tenth.
Big thanks to the team for all their hard work, and also the fans – great to see you all once more.
