After a great day’s racing yesterday on the tarmac at Skegness, we are much nearer to home this evening as we head down the road to our local track, Odsal. We had 4 cars racing at the meeting, Frankie, Danny, Phoebe and Frankie JJ.
Heat 1
The cars were evenly split between the two heats, with Frankie and Danny being the only two superstars in heat 1, and after the first period of waved yellows, Frankie and Danny had made their way from the back to the front, with John Lund (53) sat behind in 3rd place. Frankie managed to keep Danny behind him all the way to the chequered flag, with Austin Moore (127) coming home 3rd.
Heat 2
Phoebe lined up on the front row of the blues alongside Jack France (216) with Frankie JJ on the front row of the reds with Finn Sargent (526) for company. Despite there being no stoppages, neither driver qualified for the final with the race being won by Tom Harris (1).
Consolation
Phoebe and Frankie JJ went out for the consolation, and after some hard driving first over the line was John Dowson (94) followed by John Lund (53), and then Frankie JJ came home 3rd with Phoebe right behind him in 4th, both drivers therefore qualifying for the final.
Final
Frankie, Frankie JJ and Phoebe went out to contest the final, and after a few stoppages, and with Frankie retiring with a puncture, only Frankie JJ finished in the points coming home 9th behind final winner Matt Newson (16).
Grand National
We only had Frankie and Phoebe out for the grand national, and after a scary moment where another puncture nearly sent Frankie onto his roof, Phoebe came home 8th in a race won by Tom Harris.
Back on shale next week at King’s Lynn, and lot’s of work to de before then!
