Back to Odsal for the next instalmet of BriSCA F1, and we had 5 cars with us, Frankie, Danny, Frankie JJ, Phoebe and Lewis (Galer) all looking to pick up some valuable points.
There was also some more excellent pre-meeting entertainment from Yorstox, with drivers/teams taking part in a wheel change time trial.
Heat 1
We only had Phoebe out for heat 1, and she drove really well, and after a stoppage for yet another roll for Sam Makim (93) she was placed 6th. After the restart, Ryan Harrison (197) charged through to take the win with Phoebe maintaining her track position and coming home an excellent 7th.
Heat 2
Danny and Frankie JJ both took to the track for heat 2, and after an eventful race Frankie followed Danny over the lie for 10th, with Danny one place better in 9th, with Tom Harris (1) winning.
Heat 3
Frankie and Lewis went out for the third heat, with Frankie at the back alongside 2022 debutant Craig Finnikin (55). After a couple of stoppages, firstly when Joe Nicholls (242) lost a wheel, then for Jacklyn Ellis (219) in the fence, Mark Tesselaar (H40) took the win ( his first in the UK) with (soon to be red top) Austin Moore (127) holding Frankie at bay for 2nd with Frankie 3rd.
Consolation
Lewis was the only representative from Team Wainman in the consolation, and after a brutal race with several stoppages, he could only finish 12th and missed out on a place in the final.
Final
There were 4 of our cars on track for the final and with a packed grid, as you can imagine there was action right through the field. After a couple of stoppages, and retirements for Frankie, Danny and JJ, only Phoebe crossed the line in the points, finishing in 12th, behind final winner Lee Fairhurst(217) who won in his first meeting of 2022.
Grand National
Frankie and Frankie JJ didn’t make it out for the grand national (Frankie had a diff failure in the final), so we had Danny, Phoebe and Lewis out, and after another stoppage for a rollover, this time for Sam Brigg (587), Tom Harris (1) took the win with Danny 4th, and Lee Fairhurst 5th from the lap handicap.
A great evening at our local track, back on tarmac nest weekend over the border at Lochgelly (Friday) and Cowdenbeath (Saturday)
