Rapid Orange is Back!

Something special has been happening at Wainman HQ in Silsden over the last few months, with the rebirth of one of Frankie’s most iconic cars, the 2000/2001 Rapid Orange car. The car was built by Frankie for the 2000 season and in it he qualified for the WF by winning his semi-final at Swaffham. More success followed with lots of race wins during its time in the Wainman garage.

Frankie raced this car until 2001 as a dual surface car and having success on both surfaces winning 85 races in this period (not all in this car though).

In 2002 the car went to Alan England (146), father of current F1 driver Ashley England.

Next the car was raced by Paul English (296) from 2006 until 2008.

When the car was back at Frankie’s, Danny even raced it for a Christmas meeting in 2008

The car then came back with Darren Lindsay (226) the new owner, and he raced the car for a number of years

And then, about 12 months ago Frankie bought the car from Darren and the transformation started, from the green car you can see above to the magnificent heritage car you can see today.

This magnificent heritage car will soon be seen around the tracks in the UK, and will be the only racing 515 heritage car based in the UK, and the proud owner is Dave Asquith, seen here with Frankie when he collected the car last weekend (17/1/2026).
