2026 Season | David Hopkins (447) Tarmac Car (8/5/2026)

We are always busy here at Wainman HQ, and this year is no different, and we have been working on this profect since 2020.

Dave Hopkins last raced around 2011, and in an F1 career that spanned 9 years Dave won 9 races which included 2 final wins, both on tarmac.

The racing highlight of Dave’s career was the second of those two final wins when he won the UK Open at Skegness on 11 May 2008.

Dave has always raced Wainman cars so when he decided to get behind the wheel again, the natural choice was to ask Frankie to build his new car.

The car was started around 2020, but once Dave’s family and work commitments increased the build was put on hold. During the winter Dave decided it was time to get back on track so the car was finished, and following a successful test day at Skegness yesterday, will make it’s debut this weekend.

Dave would like the thank all at Wainman HQ and all his sponsors and especially his wife Nadine for making this next chapter of his racing career happen.

Together with Dave and Nadine his four daughters Frankie, Georgie, Lenie and Bobbie will be cheering him on from the terraces!

We would like to wish Dave and his team all the best for the next chapter of his BriSCA F1 career, starting this weekend at Skegness, the scene of his UK Open victory all those years ago.
