2022 Meeting Report – King’s Lynn (19/3/2022)

Yesterday was the first meeting of the 2022 season, and we headed for Norfolk, and King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena with 3 cars, Frankie’s (515). Phoebe’s (211) and a debut for Lewis Galer (78) in one of our hire cars.
Lewis was first out on track in a pre-meeting test for new drivers and he went well for his first time in a BriSCA F1.
Heat 1 (2021 Whites & Yellows Final)
Both Phoebe and Lewis went out in the first race of the evening, and both qualified for the final with Phoebe finishing 5th and Lewis 7th in a race won by Mark Sargent (326).
Heat 2
Frankie went out in heat 2 and lined up with fellow superstars Matt Newson (16), Ryan Harrison (197) and Tom Harris (1). Frank drove well and followed Ryan over the line for a 2nd place finish in a car that was smoking. This turned out to be a burst pipe and nothing more thankfully.
Final
With all 3 cars in the final, we had Phoebe on row 2 of the blues, Frankie with Ryan Harrison (the only 2 superstars to make the final) and Lewis with the other novices.
Phoebe had to pull off while in the top 10 due to a cooling issue, which needed a replacement radiator before the national, and as in heat 2, Frankie followed Ryan over the line for another 2nd, with Sam Brigg (587) 3rd.
Grand National
With final winner Ryan Harrison starting with the lap handicap, and after a couple of yellow flags, a ‘last bender’ from Ryan who was trying to take a ‘maximum’ narrowly failed, allowing Tom Harris, Matt Newson and Frankie to take the flag. with another top 3 finish for Frankie meaning a decent haul of points heading back up to Silsden.
See you at Odsal next weekend!
