Big thanks as ever to Derek Brown for the use of his car.

Northampton 23rd April
It was an all in format for tonight’s meeting.  Young Frank 555 looked quick in practice and was equally fast in his first race.

Three yellow flags didn’t work in his favour but they did for his uncle and dad, they caught young Frank and passed him but he hung in there and got 7th place.

Danny finished in 4th and FWJ took the chequered flag.

Their second heat didn’t go quite as smoothly.  555 got hit into a parked car. Dan and Frank struggled a bit finishing in 7th and 10th.

A few repairs were needed to the loaned Derek Brown car, a bit of steel work damage and a buckled wheel.

The Final saw some more decent results for all three. FWJ had a good battle with Lee 217, just managed to beat him to the line with a 3rd place, Danny had a good race and managed 6th, 555 finished in 10th.

Grand National, and some more top 10 places for the boys, FWJ finished 4th, 555 8th and Danny 9th.

As soon as we loaded up we set a off for Buxton, where we were racing the following day. A bit of snow on the way but nothing major.

For Ale…

Buxton 24th April
Two heats today. FWJ was in the first race, once again he took the first race of the day, the car looked quick.

Danny and young Frankie were out in heat 2.  Wrong tyre choice was made by both of them, neither of them qualified, crossing the line 9th & 10th.  So it was the consolation for them.

Wrong tyre choice again! We had drys on when we probably should have had wets on? Even so they persevered, and 555 got 5th and Danny 9th, so all 3 had made the final.

The Final was a hard fast race, with a couple of trains going on.  FWJ struggled but managed a 5th place, Danny pulled off with brake problems and 555 struggled but finished.

Danny loaded up before the GN. He’d been struggling with one thing or another all day , and besides he is going to Holland this evening, so they decided to get going.

The track conditions have been tricky all day, going from wet to dry, but they didn’t fare too bad in the national.  FWJ couldn’t quite reach JJ before the flag dropped and he finished fifth, just ahead of his dad in sixth.

We get home at a reasonable time and have to do a lot of work unloading and reloading ready for our trip to Blauwhuis, Holland,  where 515, 212, 555, and 175 will be competing on Tuesday and Wednesday.
