The BriSCA F1 bandwagon rolled into the Peak District last weekend for the 2026 BriSCA F1 British Championship meeting, and with 50 cars booked in it promised to be a cracker of a weekend. The number was down to 49 before the first race as, sadly Danny had an engine issue (broken cam follower) during practice and therefore could not take part in the meeting, which was gutting for all the team after getting the car ready during the week.
That left Frankie, Frankie JJ and Karl racing for the black and white chequered roof.
Each driver took part in 3 heats and the points scored determined their grid position for the final race of the evening, the ‘British’.
Both drivers took part in their heats with Frankie getting finishes of 9th, 4th and a 5th, Frankie JJ with a 10th and 2 6th place finishes and Karl two 8th place finishes they lined up with Frankie inside row 7, Frankie JJ outside row 8 and Karl outside row 10.
The big race was eventful throughout the pack and throughout the race, with front row duo of Tom and Callum Thornton swapping positions and battling it out for the black and white chequered roof.
It was Tom who defended the lead after a last bender from Callum to take his 3rd British Championship, Callum following him over the line less than a car length behind for 2nd.
Frankie crossed the line in an excellent 4th place behind 3rd placed Liam Gilbank, with Karl making up a good number of places to finish 6th.
A great meeting and now its a weekend off before we head to Lincolnshire for the Skegness ‘Weekender’ which promised to be a great action packed weekend or racing.
